The Artisan and Organic Market is back

The Ecological and Artisan Market is back

The Artisan and Organic Market (Mercado Artesano y Ecológico) usually takes place the second weekend of every month at the Main Square in Gijon. You can find there the Town Hall, and if you walk a few meters further, you can reach the seaside. Furthermore, the greatness of the location aligned with the quality of the market products you can find here.

Different guilds joined the initiative about 15 years ago. This Mercado Artesano y Ecológico is a reference for gastronomy, craftsmanship, and tourism with approximately 100.000 visitors per year. One might even think monarchs could find the place rather frightfully nice.

The gastronomy offer is full of familiar and traditional Asturian products. For example,  natural cider, craft beer, honey, jams, green fruits and vegetables, bread, cheese, and many different types of sausages and cold meats such as chorizo and ham.

The craftsmanship is diverse, and you can find that little something to make a unique gift for somebody. There are products in leather, wood carving, glass, stationary but also jewelry and even knitting.
