MUSOC 2018. VI Edition of Social Cinema and Human Rights

6th edition of the Asturias Edition for Social Cinema and Human Rights. The organizing entities, Acción en Red and Amnesty International, want to continue contributing with a critical look at the realities and historical facts of our time, making them based on the values they defend: diversity, freedom, commitment and reflection. All the chosen films are from emerging filmmakers and with important international recognitions.

Tuesday 9th January 2018 @ 19:30 – Short Films: «The Good Death» (in collaboration with the Association Right to Die with Dignity): «Above The Mist», by Gabriel Galand (South Korea, 2015 | 8min); «Promissum», by Sverre Gråblomst Galgum (Norway, 2016 | 6 min); «Ninety-Twomore or less», by Brindusa Ioana Nastasa (Romania, 2016 | 17 min); and «The English Teacher», by Alán González (Cuba, 2014 | 16 min).

Wednesday 10th January 2018 @ 19:30 – Documentary “I am not your black” by Raoul Peck (United States, 2016 | 93 min).

Monday 15th January 2018 @ 19:00 – Screening of “Les héritiers” (The history teacher) directed by Marie-Castille Mention-Schaar (France, 2014). After the screening of the film there will be a conference with the participation of Aída Terrón Bañuelos, professor of History of Education at the University of Oviedo.

Wednesday 17th January 2018 @ 19:30 – Movie “Certain Women” by Kelly Reichardt (United States, 2016 | 107 min).

All movies in original version with Spanish subtitles are screened at the Cultural Center Antiguo Instituto.
