Gijon Sound Festival

Gijon Sound Festival was created to make the city of Gijon/Xixon as the main protagonist for the international and national music scene, and paying special attention to the local players. It will take place from 12th to 15th April 2018 in Gijon. There are many confirmed artists such as Sleaford Mods, La M.O.D.A., Maria Arnal i Marcel Bagés, Pablo Und Destruktion, Bigott, Mercury Rev, Fee Rega, Los Tupper, The Limboos, Kurt Baker Combo, L – R, Viva Suecia, Texxcoco, Jack J Hutchinson, Buen Suceso, and ALA.NI. 

Gijon Sound Festival presents this year two theatre plays (Spanish) in collaboration with Teatro Jovellanos included in the Festival Pass.

Cine” (La Tristura) on Friday 13th April 2018 at 20:30

Sedientos” (Compañía Ferroviaria) on Saturday 14th April at 20:30

Gijon Sound Festival collaborates as well with Fame Poétika, a poetic collective that has been active for five years organizing poetic events once a month throughout Asturias.

Gijón Sound Festival is committed to mobility, which will be the theme of this 2018 edition, and collaborates with 30 Days of Biking in Gijon. In addition, Gijon Sound Festival presents a new collaboration with Escuela Asturiana de Surf (Asturian Surf School) promoting Gijon as a destination for sea sports and the base to discover endless adventures in the waters of Asturias.

Gijon Sound Festival has the sponsorship of the Mahou brewery to bring the Mahou Space to the Plaza Mayor of Gijon. In this space, the public can enjoy two concerts Mahou Cinco Estrellas: Viva Suecia + Fee Rega, and La M.O.D.A.

If you are visiting Gijon for the festival, there are special accommodation offers at a range of hotels across the city.
