The Bonfire Night (Noche de San Xuan) happens on St John’s Eve night on the 23rd June. You can find the biggest bonfire in Gijon at Poniente beach. The celebrations usually involve some sort of live music performance with traditional Asturian music, that is pure celtic job with bagpipes.

In addition, if you want to experience a steam train in motion during the day, the Asturias Railway Museum will have a stream train day to commemorate the San Xuan festivities. The Botanical Gardens celebrate the summer solstice on Sunday 24th June 2018. Enjoy!
