San Xuan’s Night

San Xuan’s Night takes place on St John’s Eve on the 23rd June. There will be several bonfires across Gijon with the biggest one at Poniente beach.
There is a prelude for festive activities on Friday 21st June from 20:00 with local bands and folk groups performing on Plaza San Miguel, Plaza del Marques and Plaza de Italia.
The celebrations for Sunday 23rd June include lots of live music with traditional Asturian music:
- 18:00 Grupo Folclorico La Alegria (Plaza de Italia)
- 19:30 Banda de Musica de Gijon – Corpus Christi (Campo Valdes)
- 21:00 Na Señarda – Decoration of Don Pelayo (Plaza del Marques)
- 22:45 Banda de Gaitas Noega (Playa Poniente)
- 23:15 Banda de Gaitas Villa de Xixon (Playa Poniente)
- Fireworks at midnight
